Essence Crystalliced limited edition lipgloss

Essence released a limited edition collection this winter  called Crystalliced. The collection is all about pastels and special finishes like glitter, frost and flakies. I picked up these lipglosses (and a nailpolish that was disappointingly sheer, so ignore it), and I absolutely love them!

DIY: honey-yoghurt facemask

After having an allergic reactions to some store bought facemasks a few times in the past, I decided to make them myself. I use this honey and yoghurt mixture very often if my skin is dry, and I feel like it gives a nice boost and leaves my skin fresh and glowy. It is not the kind of facemask that does miracles, but it is by no means aggressive and that's what matters the most to my skin type. This is also great if you get sunburn!

Manhattan lipstick #34

I used to wear this lipstick daily for months after I first bought it. It is not a very impressive color but it just suits me so well that I can wear it in a casual way for any occasion.  I am wearing it in this look as well. I guess you could call this my signature lipstick!

It is very creamy and pigmented, but it does not stain much. It is a little more muted down in real life, so it is not a must to apply it very precise in my opinion. I don't own any other manhattan lipsticks, but this one has a satin finish and it is not drying at all. The biggest downside is that it smells like soap..  It's not that strong, but I prefer an 'edible' scent for my lip prodcuts, or no scent at all.

They don't sell manhattan here anymore so I am looking for a similar shade. Any suggestions?
What is your signature lipcolor if you have one?

Let's talk eyebrows!

Some of my readers are not into make-up at all, but just friends being awesome and supportive, and today I am fulfilling a request by a friend that asked me about my eyebrows!

When I tell people that I fill in my eyebrows, they often have troubles believing it. I bet people imagine something very dramatic when they think of drawn in eyebrows, but I think it is one of the most accessible ways of using make-up, also for those who want to look a bit more natural. Hardly anyone has symmetric eyebrows. Filling in your bows can help even them out if you feel that it is nessecary. I don't think perfect symmetry is a must, but I do try to make my brows look a bit more alike.

Inspired by..

To me, sunday afternoon often exists of walking my dog Sputnik to the bakery, changing into jogging pants, making nice food, watching movies, doing blog stuff and doing make-up! Today I am skipping the make-up because I have an eye infection, but I have a look from a few weeks ago that I want to share :) I based this look on Sofia Loren's classic diva look, and it was pretty challenging because I look nothing like her. Her features are pretty unique, but I tried to mimic them a little bit.

Green look with Shiro's Link!

This is a quick look I did a while ago using Link. The look itself is not spectacular and my brows are looking terrible (not enough light in the bathroom or too sleepy to notice), but boy is this a pretty green!

Tutorial: My cuticle routine

My cuticles were in terribe shape due to the constant temperature changes and washing my hands too often at work, so it was about time I took care of them! I took some pictures of my routine, using a depilatory cream to remove the excess skin on my cuticles.

If you are thinking 'what the hell is she on about?' : read my previous post about the usage of a depilatory cream on your cuticles!

Time keeps on slippin'

I haven't made many nice looks lately. Because a) I am freezing my ass off at 8am and postpone the moment of facing the cold so long that I end up only having 10 minutes. And b) The cold and temperature changes have ruined my skin once again, and I don't feel like doing fancy eyelooks when my face looks like a mess. On top of that I wasn't able to reach my picture archives for a few days, but I finally managed to dig up some pics that I'd like to share :)

I was inspired by the 60's for this look. It's not the most flattering look on me because it emphasizes my hooded eyelids and under-eye circles a lot, but I liked it anyway. Sometimes looking a bit grungy can have it's charm too. I keep telling myself that, haha :p
