Why ordering indie cosmetics is better than Christmas

There are a few posts about make-up and perfume waiting to be published, but I have been postponing them for a few weeks. I intended to write simple reviews with some clear swatches, and somehow I ended up with a chaotic overload of pictures. I found myself torn between wanting to keep my swatch posts relevant and to the point, and wanting to share the whole experience. So after thinking it over I decided that I really want to share this fuzzy happy feeling with you guys, and pictures are essential for that. Whoever is not interested can just skip these posts :)

Check out the adorable detail in packaging from Darling Girl cosmetics and One Hand Washes The Other!

What picture is your favorite? Mine is the one with the adorable little bat :)
Swatches and reviews coming up!

  1. I love opening up little parcels and finding awesomeness inside on top of what I ordered. Even a nice little note of cute wrapping paper says they care.

  2. Indie is the best. It really is. I take every opportunity I can to support handmade well everything.

There are only a few things I use that aren't indie. You know the owner appreciates you and your order because they usually have handwritten invoices, stickers, ribbons etc. You just know you are special.

    1. I often feel guilty about buying too much make-up when I buy it in stores, but when it comes in the mail wrapped up like a gift I somehow never feel guilty! I love all the little details :)

  4. Everything looks lovely! Are those lipbalms from the first or second company? Would love to try them out if they smell like the names ;)

    1. They are actually not lipbalms but solid perfume sticks, from One Hand Washes The Other! They smell amazing, you should check them out. I will be doing a post on them soon :)

  5. It really is the loving attention to detail that truly sets indies apart :)
Even if it's as simple as a little smiley face on my invoice, it makes me feel like a very appreciated customer. It's funny, you'd think that most indie brands would have a diminished variety compared to the big name brands, but more often than not, indie brands have a breath taking and awe inspiring variety, that honestly, most big brands just don't have.

Can't wait to see your thoughts on Darling Girl! I love Susan's lip products, especially her kiss you off balms :D
